If you are completing this form, a teacher candidate has selected you as one who can describe his/her/their readiness for a student teaching placement that has either restricted access or could place additional demands on the candidate's professionalism.  These placements include the following:

  1. A local-area placement in a highly-contested endorsement area.  Examples include English, social studies, science, and others for which the demand for placements exceeds the capacity of local partners to provide those placements.
  2. A placement at considerable distance from MSU (either in another state or a different country) that will require the candidate to exhibit a greater degree of self-direction than would a placement within the home area or state.
Your reference will enable us to guide teacher candidates to placement situations that will facilitate their success as well as the continued well-being of the clinical placement program.

Thank you sincerely for your time.
